4 hares with knotted ears in the center of a bower

Installation of a hare's cardinal head on a helical screw in the center of a bower, made up of eight avenues of shrubs. The heads and ears tied together in pairs look and listen alternately in each direction.

During the preparatory visit to the site last fall, I was intrigued by this hornbeam, by these 8 paths crossing at 45° in a regular pattern. It seemed that a converging marker was missing in its center. A sculpture or monument must have existed there a long time ago... It was then that a hare, disturbed in its nap, scampered away...

Calvaries, milestones, erected stones or sculptures are never placed by chance. They are witnesses to a sacrifice, a burial or a spring. In this place, both topography and mythology are invited. The sculpture, like a mushroom, bears witness to an underground mycorrhiza. It sinks its geometric roots into the earth.
